Brushed Oiled Ash Wood Coral
Brushed oiling starts with a wire-brushing pass that scours away ash's wide, porous earlywood bands between the growth rings, so the denser latewood stands proud as ridges above long, recessed furrows. A base tone is worked into those open furrows first, where it pools and saturates most deeply. A second, contrasting tone follows, wiped across the surface so it catches mainly on the raised ridges and leaves the grooves in their own distinct hue.
These PBR texture maps carry the brushed relief in the height and normal data, so the raised grain ridges catch light and cast microshadow the way the oiled surface does in reality. The roughness map holds the oil's low, even sheen against the coarser brushed texture, keeping the contrast between fibre and furrow consistent across viewing angles.
