Grand Piano
Piano lacquer is built up from successive thin coats of polyester finish over a grain-filled, sealed wood substrate, each layer cured before the next is applied until the film reaches full optical thickness. This buildup levels the surface, burying the timber's grain beneath a hard, continuous film rather than leaving it as surface relief. The cured coat is then buffed to a mirror-smooth finish, a stage that leaves faint micro-fine swirls in the film itself, softening highlights slightly at grazing angles.
These PBR texture maps place that optical flatness in a dedicated clearcoat layer, so reflections read sharp and mirror-like off a sealed film rather than following any underlying wood texture, while the undercoating base maps hold the faint buffing swirl that survives on the real surface. The set is made for use across high-gloss furniture and musical instrument visualisation, validated across lighting conditions.
Optimized for Metallic/Roughness workflows. (Note: For Specular/Glossiness workflow, simply invert the Roughness map inside your render engine).
These dimensions serve as guidance, ensuring realism and consistency. All assets are encouraged to be used flexibly and can be scaled accordingly to suit different scales or art-directed scenarios.
